Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Skissa at skissa.app (the "Service"). Skissa is operated by Ingiber Freyr, based in Iceland ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
The Service
Skissa is a visual outliner for novelists. You can create workspaces, invite collaborators and plan projects with plotlines, chapters, scenes and characters.
Your account
You need an account to use the Service. Keep your login details secure and tell us at hello@skissa.app if you think someone else has accessed your account. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
Workspace owners and admins control who has access to a workspace. Anyone you invite can see and edit the projects in that workspace.
Your content
You own everything you write in Skissa. We don't claim any rights to your stories, outlines or notes. You give us only the limited permission we need to store, display and back up your content so the Service can work for you and the collaborators you invite. We never use your content to train AI models and never sell it.
You are responsible for your content and must have the right to upload it. Don't use the Service for anything unlawful, to infringe anyone else's rights, or to attack, overload or reverse-engineer the Service.
Plans and payment
Skissa has a free plan and a paid Pro plan (currently $9 per month or $90 per year, plus any applicable taxes). Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your workspace settings; you keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for. If we change prices, we'll tell you in advance and the new price will apply from your next renewal.
Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.
Ending your use
You can stop using the Service at any time, and we'll delete your account and content if you email hello@skissa.app. If you downgrade or cancel, your projects stay intact, but you can't create more than the free plan allows. We may suspend or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms. Where reasonable, we'll warn you first and give you a chance to export your work.
Availability and changes
We work hard to keep Skissa running and your data safe, but the Service is provided "as is" and we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. Keep your own copies of anything you can't afford to lose. We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the Service, we'll give you reasonable notice to export your content.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If a change is significant, we'll let you know by email or in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated terms.
Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Iceland. If you live in the EU or EEA, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live.
